It was ten years ago when I treated Jim. Unfortunately, his story did not end there. Some years later Jim was diagnosed with Lewy body dementia and he experienced continued degeneration. Now he is in a home - an excellent one and he is well taken care of. I visit him every now and then. He still recognizes me but he has a lot of hallucinations and his speech is difficult, often a word salad. One thing stuck though, he still can smell and taste and in fact eating continues to be one of his chief pleasures.
