Complex Regional Pain (CRPS)

Neuro-Acupuncture Solutions for Complex Regional Pain Syndrome

Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS) is a chronic, debilitating condition usually triggered by an injury such as a fracture, surgery, or sprain. It is characterized by pain that is disproportionately intense compared to the original trauma, often described by patients as a "forest fire" in the nervous system.

We have treated numerous CRPS cases resulting from gunshots, fractures, or sprains. The common factor in all these cases is severe, debilitating pain. Some patients are so sensitive to touch that physical therapy is not a viable option. Furthermore, treatments such as nerve blocks, ketamine infusions, and even opioids are not always effective, or they may only provide short-term relief. Consequently, many patients who have already explored these options welcome a non-drug treatment.

CRPS is believed to result from a complex interplay of inflammation and nervous system sensitization. Neuro-acupuncture is an extremely effective treatment for this condition. It can be administered away from the specific sites of pain, and its effects are often instantaneous. We have achieved excellent results with our CRPS treatments, with many patients reporting that it was the first time they experienced such significant relief.

“Lok-Kwan opened up a world of relief I did not think was possible with my neurological pain disorder (specifically a progressive disease of the sympathetic nervous system).  After my first session I immediately felt pain relief. For over a decade I tried countless medicines, opioids, surgeries and procedures from the "best" specialists in the Midwest.  Lok-Kwan was the first to bring me consistent relief, and I am eternally grateful for him.”
